Ludhiana, November 23

MC Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal has served a show-cause notice to SDO Balwinder Singh regarding the pothole on the Suman Hospital Road at Model Town. In the notice, it is stated that the pothole was not repaired in time, which led to the accident and embarrassment to the MC. “This is a sheer case of negligence on your part. This negligence of yours also led to putting lives of commuters in danger, said the notice to the SDO. Balwinder Singh has been asked to explain as to why action should not be taken against him for negligence in the discharge of his duties.

Meanwhile, MC Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal on Monday issued a show-cause notice to SDO Rakesh Singla for failing to conduct the proper inspection of the road work at Giaspura. As per the notice, a complaint was received from Ankit Bansal, OSD to CM Punjab, during his visit to the site of the construction of the road at Giaspura.

MC Zone C Superintending Engineer reported today that the steel shuttering being used at the site was found to be of 11-inch depth instead of 12 inches. Taking a serious note of this, the MC chief stated in the order that this was gross negligence on part of SDO Singla.

The SDO has been asked to explain as to why action should not be initiated against him for showing negligence in the discharge of his duties. He has been asked to personally submit reply to the show-cause notice within three days before the MC Commissioner.
