Ludhiana, July 6

For the strict implementation of ban on single-use plastics, members of the PPCB organised a meeting at Patiala. Pankaj Sharma, one of the board members, said, “The board members discussed on the implementation of MSME notification 2020 and re-delegate powers for grant of regulatory clearance accordingly.

The clearances of micro and small scale units will be decided locally at the district levels so that file movement is to be reduced, he added.

The consent fee structure is to be made more rational and is to be pollution-load oriented. It was proposed that industry falling in critically polluted areas or non-attainment cities will be asked to observe stringent emission norms. The board asked its officials to create awareness among industry and consumers about the ban on single-use plastics.
