As many as 86 graduates from medical college, 21 students from Physiotherapy College received their degrees while 39 students from Dental College also graduated.

Raj Bahadur, Vice Chancellor, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, was the chief guest. Dr William Bhatti, Director, addressing the gathering said CMC Ludhiana was celebrating 125 years of glorious service to the nation.

Dr Jeyaraj D Pandian, Principal, Christian Medical College, administered the Hippocratic Oath to the graduates and presented the annual report of the college highlighting the achievements, awards and honors won by the faculty and the students.

The chief guest Dr Raj Bahadur appreciated the role of CMC in providing quality medical education and health care for the past 125 years. He appreciated the contribution of graduates of CMC in serving the rural mission hospitals in India.

He urged the graduates to be responsive to the health needs of the society and fulfill their mandate of providing holistic health. Students excelling in various academic activities were awarded prizes and medals by the chief guest.

Students of the College of Physiotherapy excelling in various academic activities were awarded prizes and medals by the chief guest. Overview of the achievements of the faculty was presented by the principals of the Medical College, Dental College, College of Nursing and the College of Physiotherapy.

The College of Nursing toppers include BSc students Binija Merin Varghese, Simar, Rekha Salhotra, Navneet Kaur, (MSc) Suman Kumari and Kanika Sharma.

Award winners of Christian Medical College

  • Uday Modi, Manika Chaudhry, Abhilasha Sahil, Anmol Malhotra, Hunar Mahal, Sameera Kohli, Macwan Annie Augustin, Rahil Masih among the prominent prize winners.
  • Khushboo Saluja wins the Vipin Khanna Memorial Gold Medal for best intern. 
  • Dr Anish Philips awarded Dr Jaswant Kaur Gill Memorial Award for best outgoing medicine resident.
  • Dr Elizabeth Mary John awarded Dr Sheila Singh Paul Memorial Award for best resident in paediatrics. 
  • Dr Joshua Victor awarded Dr Abraham G Thomas Award for the best outgoing resident in surgery.
  • Dr Rejul K Raj receives the faculty award for the best outgoing orthopaedic resident. 
  • Dr Celin Sowmya S receives the Shri Janak Raj Singla Memorial Award for best outgoing resident in radiodiagnosis.

Awards by Association of Medical Alumni

The Association of Medical Alumni awarded the Life Time Service award to Dr. Saroj Chaudhary. Dr VK Satija memorial Award for best Clinical Teacher was presented to Dr Sarah Valson while the batch of 1976 Excellence in Teaching Award was awarded to Dr Lydia Solomon. Dr Eileen B Snow-CMC Alumni award for best all-round graduate was bagged by Raj Pratik.
