Though a big banner of ‘Phir ek bar, Modi sarkar’ was pasted behind and in front of him at the dais, PM Narendra Modi today coined a slogan “Modi hai, toh mumkin hai” (If Modi is there, it is possible) for all problems and purposes.

Comparing the previous UPA government’s 10 years with his tenure of four and a half years on all fronts, Modi said they (Congress) had said the farmers’ loan would be waived in 10 days, but these days were mentioned only in their calendar. It never happened in Rajasthan.

“Speaking lies is their (Congress) habit. Now, their ‘kalai khul gai hai’ (lie has been exposed). They get fever of farmers’ loan whenever election approaches. In UPA period, only Rs 50,000 to Rs 55,000 loans were waived which was just 20 per cent of the total peasants.

“My government’s farmers loan scheme benefitted 90 per cent of them. And the PM Kisan Samman Yojna framed at a cost of Rs 7.5 crore would transfer money in the farmers’ accounts directly. Rs 500 crore have been earmarked in the Budget for animal husbandry. So Modi hai to, mumkin hai,” he said, with the gathering repeating the slogan after him.

Criticising the UPA government for keeping One Rank, One Pension scheme pending for 40 years, the PM claimed his government implemented it with a budgetary provision of Rs 11,000 crore, benefitting 20 lakh ex-servicemen. And, it was possible because “Modi hai, toh mumkin hai”.

Reiterating NDA’s major schemes like Ujjwala, PM housing scheme, direct cash transfer, 10 per cent quota to EWS and a strong nation to face challenges of terror and the enemy, Modi said it was all possible because “Modi hai, toh mumkin hai”. Finally, he urged the gathering, “Modi needs your blessings. Ek-ek vote se shakti milti hai (each vote gives strength).”

Chopper trouble?

  • PM Narendra Modi had to change a chopper due to a technical snag
  • The helicopter was about to take off at 1.05 pm from the Sanganer airport, local TV news channels said. The PM arrived at Sanganer airport from Delhi by a special plane for a rally in Tonk five minutes before 1 pm
  • However, the airport authorities and police kept mum about the incident
