Cyber firm owned by Hindutva terror suspect under scanner

The Anti-Terror Squad of the Maharashtra Police is investigating the antecedents of a computer software and consultancy company floated by one of the suspects arrested after the seizure of explosives and weapons from the premises of Sanatan Sanstha and Hindu Janjagruti Samiti member Vaibhav Raut.

The police said Sudhanva Gondhalekar, who was arrested from Pune, had floated a company called CAD Point a few years ago with offices in Pune and Satara.

The company purportedly provided design and consultancy services to architects and had a number of clients in both cities. Officials said those associated with the company could be questioned soon. Investigators may also seek the assistance of experts from the cyber crime cell.

Meanwhile, raids on premises owned by Raut have yielded more arms and ammunition, the police said.

Raut, Gondhalekar and another accused Sharad Kalaskar are still being questioned as to the end-use of these weapons.”We suspect they may have trained a few people in the use of these weapons,” a state police official said.

The trio is being quizzed on the possibility of the hardline Hindutva elements preparing a hit-list of those to be eliminated. Earlier this month, the Goa police had provided security to noted Konkani writer Damodar Mouzo after Intelligence reports indicated a threat to him from members of the Sanatan Sanstha, headquartered in Ponda.
