Sangrur, June 20
SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government had failed on all fronts and that it would renege on its promise to give 300 units of free power as well as Rs 1,000 per month to all women in the same way as former CM Capt Amarinder Singh had gone back on his promises.
The SAD chief, who was campaigning in the constituency in favour of joint panthic and SAD-BSP candidate Kamaldeep Kaur Rajoana, said the people were fed up of the AAP government in three months only.
Badal also took on SAD (Amritsar) leader Simranjit Singh Mann stating the latter did not stand for maintaining peace and communal harmony. He said the SAD on its part had tried its best to forge panthic unity and fielded a common candidate for the Sangrur bypoll.
Sukhbir appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to withdraw the Agnipath scheme. He said it seemed the scheme had been notified in haste without taking the youth into confidence and failing to gauge its adverse impact on the morale of the Armed forces.
