Fatehgarh Sahib, March 12
The State Bank of India in association with Vishwas Foundation, a Panchkula-based NGO, organised a blood donation camp at the District Administrative Complex today.
Fatehgarh Sahib Deputy Commissioner Amrit Kaur Gill inaugurated the camp. A team of doctors from the PGI collected 120 units of blood.
The Deputy Commissioner said blood donation is supreme as it saves a precious life. She said medicines can be manufactured in factories, but blood cannot be manufactured.
She called upon the residents, especially youths to donate blood. She appreciated the efforts of the SBI, Vishvas Foundation and the administration. Upasna Sahni, manager, SBI, said the bank initiates public welfare measures.
Vinod Arora, regional manager, SBI; Saral Vishwas; Sadhwi Neelma Vishwas and Maninder Singh, among others were present. — OC
