Man dies in accident

Pritpal Singh, a resident of Ranjit Avenue, lost his life when a “rashly-driven” car hit his scooter near Ranjit Avenue gurudwara here on Saturday. He died before he was taken to the hospital. Jasmeet Singh, son of the deceased, said his father was returning home on his scooter and he was following him in another vehicle. He said when his father reached near the gurdwara in Ranjit Avenue A Block, a rashly-driven car hit his scooter. The accused fled after the mishap. The victim was rushed to a nearby private hospital where doctors declared him dead. A case under Sections 304-A and 427 of the IPC has been registered in this connection.
