A ‘nagar kirtan’ procession, dedicated to the 413th martyrdom day of Fifth Sikh Guru, Arjun Dev, was taken out on Thursday. A large number of devotees participated in it.
Led by Panj Piaras, the procession started from Guru Arjun Dev Sarai and after passing through markets and different localities of the town before being concluded at the beginning point.
On the instructions issued by the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC), the ‘nagar kirtan’ was organised by the manager of Sri Darbar Sahib in association with Sri Guru Arjun Dev Shatabdi Committee.
The devotees participating in the ‘nagar kirtan’ were greeted by the devotees at every point who served them with sweetened water and eatables. Balwinder Singh Uboke, manager of Sri Darbar Sahib, presented siropas (robes of honour) to the main organisers of the ‘nagar kirtan’.
