The district administration on behalf of the Punjab Government handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to Sarabjit Kaur widow of Pulwama martyr Sukhjinder Singh on his first death anniversary organised at his native village in Gandiwind Dhattal, 35 km from here, on Friday.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Surinder Singh handed over the cheque to his widow. The bhog of Sri Akhand Path of Sri Guru Granth Sahib was performed on the occasion. Sukhjinder Singh lost his life in the Pulwama terror attack last year.

Representatives of different political, religious and social organisations appreciated the highest sacrifice made by the martyr for the country.
