14 US teachers pay visit to GND varsity

AMRITSAR: A total of 14 teachers from the US visited Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) under a programme organised by the university in collaboration with Uberoi Teacher Training Institute.

Amritsar, July 17

A total of 14 teachers from the US visited Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) under a programme organised by the university in collaboration with Uberoi Teacher Training Institute.

The course was held from July 8 to 12. These scholars visited different parts of the country to study about Buddhism, Jainism, Hinduism and Sikhism. The group had come to the city to study about Sikhism. The faculty was hosted by Centre for Studies on Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

The delegation was informed about various aspects of the Sikh religion, their values, and the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev among others.

The delegates also paid obeisance at the Golden Temple. Brandi, a member of the delegation, said, “It was an amazing experience to visit here and to know about the various aspects of the religion. ” Dr Balwant Singh said, “We had an amazing time hosted all these delegation. They even paid a visit to Golden Temple. The aim of the visit was to inform them about sikh values.”
