CBSE to hold Heritage India Quiz

AMRITSAR: The CBSE will hold a Heritage India Quiz for its affiliated schools in a phased manner from November.

The CBSE will hold a Heritage India Quiz for its affiliated schools in a phased manner from November.  

The inter-school quiz competition that was conceptualised by the board with an objective to inform the growing generation of students about the inter-link between their culture and heritage. The quiz this year shall include 25 per cent questions on the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi to mark 150th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. The quiz for fifty minute will comprise of 60 multiple choice questions. The participant schools have to make all arrangement. Interested schools should submit the registration form and confirm their participation on or before November 12, 2018, by filling online registration form available at the official website. CBSE schools across world have been invited to participate in the quiz. 

 The computer system of the participants school should have functional broadband connection should be properly installed in the lab of the school for online test. 

The online registration window will remain open from October 18 till November 12. The videography of rounds shall be done to avoid any confusion later. The duration of online test will be 45 minutes and the schools will be opening the link 15 minutes before the commencement of online test at 11.45 noon. The test will commence at 12 noon.

Schools urged to observe vigilance awareness week  

The Central Board of Secondary Education has asked schools affiliated to it to observe vigilance awareness week from October 29 to November 3. The schools shall be establishing integrity club in the schools.

The integrity club will ensure creating awareness ethical values among students, and also observing activities conducted during the week. The CBSE is observing a week as step of the Central Vigilance Commission to mark seven days to promote transparency, integrity in public life. 

“Kids must be informed, reminded about such issues and mechanisms to fight problems,” said a school teacher. 

The schools are being asked to hold activities under the theme eradicate “Corruption – Build a New India.” The schools have to display posters, boarding, administering integrity pledge, organising debates, quiz, and essay writing.  

Principal, Stalwarts World School, Manisha Dhanuka, said, “We have also prepared street plays highlighting problem of corruption. For senior classes, we shall be holding seminars and talks. We are particularly focusing on street plays on creating awareness.”
