AMRITSAR: Keeping in view the necessity of unity and harmony for protection of the nation, Jan Kalayan Sangathan and Veer Abhimanyu Gurukul Sanstha organised a special programme on “Communal Harmony Awakening”.

Keeping in view the necessity of unity and harmony for protection of the nation, Jan Kalayan Sangathan and Veer Abhimanyu Gurukul Sanstha organised a special programme on “Communal Harmony Awakening”.

The programme was presided over by social activist Prof Swaraj Grover and Ranbir Singh. Anjana Seth, Principal, Holy Heart School, was the chief guest on the occasion. In his address he took up the issue of terrorism while discussin peace and communal harmony.

He said, “Terrorism is the core of many global issues, which will lead the world towards total destruction one day. Other countries can take undue advantage of our internal fight due to differences based on religion, caste, colour and creed.”

“What is being perceived today is contrary to teachings of various religions. These lead us towards the path of peace, love, affection, unity and prosperity,” he added.

Grover said, “United we stand, divided we fall. Humanity should be the only religion. Everyone should be allowed to worship in his/her own way instead of dividing in the name of religion. One must unite.”

Brij Mohan Sharma, Ajay Seth and Ranbir Singh were among others, who spoke during the programme. Students of Gurukul also presented the unity of India through a fancy dress competition.

Study material, books, pencils and sweets were distributed among poor children. Members also took an oath to live with unity and co-operation, besides induce others to act accordingly.
