Husband among three booked in suicide case

AMRITSAR: Three members of a family have been booked after a married woman committed suicide in the Rajasansi area on Sunday.

Three members of a family have been booked after a married woman committed suicide in the Rajasansi area on Sunday. The suspects have been identified as deceased’s husband Amardeep Singh, his father-in-law Mohan Singh and mother-in law Kartar Kaur, all residents of Sultanwind.

The deceased has been identified as Rajdeep Kaur, a resident of Jagdev Kalan village. Deceased’s father Jaspal Singh told the police that her daughter got married to Mohan Singh in 2012. He said her in-laws used to harass her and demand dowry from her.

“Rajdeep called me up on November 16 and told me about harassment. I visited her house and Rajdeep came along with me to Jagdev Kalan village. On November 18, she committed suicide by hanging her self from a ceiling fan.

On a complaint of the victim’s father, a case under Section 306 of the IPC has been registered against the suspects. No arrest has been made so far. — TNS
