Man dies in freak mishap

AMRITSAR: Ranjit Singh, a resident of Bhagalpur, Bihar, lost his life when an earth excavator (mover) crushed him to death in Vallah yesterday.

Ranjit Singh, a resident of Bhagalpur, Bihar, lost his life when an earth excavator (mover) crushed him to death in Vallah yesterday. Kirpal Singh, in his complaint to the police, said Ranjit Singh was his servant and he was crushed under the excavator when its driver reversed it in a “negligent” manner. The police have booked the accused, identified as Arvind Sen of Jharkhand. The accused fled the spot. Police officials said raids were being conducted to arrest the accused. A case under Sections 304-A and 279 of the IPC has been registered. — TNS
