Non-medical stream top choice among students

AMRITSAR: In the on-going counselling for admission to Senior Secondary Residential Schools for Meritorious Students, so far the majority of students are opting for non-medical stream.

In the on-going counselling for admission to Senior Secondary Residential Schools for Meritorious Students, so far the majority of students are opting for non-medical stream. On the second day of the counseling process, 87 students have been admitted to school in the district. Forty six boys and 26 girls have opted for non-medical stream. The counselling will conclude on Saturday.

The counselling is being done for students, who had cleared the entrance examination. There are 500 seats for medical, non-medical and commerce streams in the institute. Students from both urban and rural areas came to attend the counselling, which is done through an online process, in which the designated authorities by using online software inform the students about the number of seats at various meritorious schools and allocate the seats.

Jaskaran Singh, District Management Information System, said, “We held a special session informing students and parents about the facilities available at the school and quality of education.”
