Roadshow on December 22 to mark Rafi’s birth anniversary

AMRITSAR: The Mohammad Rafi Manch is all set to celebrate the birth anniversary of legendary singer on December 22. The manch has planned a massive roadshow by a bedecked bus with his posters and playing the memorable songs of the singer hailing to a place near Amritsar.

The Mohammad Rafi Manch is all set to celebrate the birth anniversary of legendary singer on December 22. The manch has planned a massive roadshow by a bedecked bus with his posters and playing the memorable songs of the singer hailing to a place near Amritsar.

The road show shall start at 10 am from India Gate, Amritsar, to Rialto Chowk, Lawerence road and finally culminating at a school at Kolta Sultan Singh village, Majitha, his birthplace.

Speaking at a press conference, Mohammad Rafi Manch chairman Ullfitt Batalvi said, “His birthday is a great occasion for all his lovers. Like always we have made elaborated arrangements this time also. We want people to join us. A number of artistes shall be present in the roadshow who will sing his numbers.”

Manch president Rajesh Gill said, “We are going to launch a website — www.mohammadrafimanch.com — where people can vote to strengthen our demand of a Bharat Ratna for Rafi. The voting shall take place only on December 22.”

Mohammad Rafi Manch deputy chairman P Kumar, vice president Rinku Malhotra and general secretary Tej Pal Singh were also present.
