Bathinda, March 25

The two-day 9th Punjab State Conference commenced here today. Surgeons of ear, nose and throat attended the conference on the first day.

The conference is being organised by Dhillon Hospital and the ENT society of Bathinda.

Dr Daljit Singh Dhillon, organising secretary of the conference, said more than 200 doctors from various parts the country were attending the conference.

The conference started with registration of doctors. Thereafter, surgical sessions were organised, in which renowned surgeons Prof Dr Ashok Gupta from PGI Chandigarh; Dr KR Megnath from Hyderabad; Dr Arvind Soni from Apollo Hospital, New Delhi; Dr Gaurav Gupta from Bikaner; Dr Mohnish Grover from Jaipur; Dr Vikas Malhotra from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi; Dr Rijunitta from PGI Chandigarh; Dr Kapila Sikka from AIIMS, New Delhi; and Dr Munish Munjal from DMC Ludhiana read out their papers.

Later, a panel discussion of doctors was held on various complicated diseases like fungal infection in nose and in ear.

Post graduate students also read out their research papers on the first day of the conference. Discussions were also held on the prevention of head and neck cancer.

The general house meeting was held on the occasion, in which Dr Daljit Singh Dhillon was elected as president of the Punjab ENT Association for 2017-18.
