The deadline of the Rs 288 crore water supply and sewerage project being executed by the Triveni company has been extended to February.

The earlier deadline of the project was December but due to slow pace, the company has been able to complete only 27 per cent work so far.

So now, it is not possible to complete the remaining work in three months.

The company has prepared a priority list of works, which are to be completed under the project and efforts would be intensified in the coming days.

The company’s priority is to complete the mainline work at Adarsh Nagar to Chandbhan and construction of STP at Adarsh Nagar, Dabwali road, water treatment plant and water storage tank at Growth Centre and 12.5 km long pipe from Bathinda to Shergarh along the sullage carrier.

As per Triveni officials, they have been given work front of Rs 74 crore by the Sewerage Board so far, of which they had already completed Rs 45 crore work.

Triveni has been given payment of around Rs 40 crore by the board of which Rs 30 crore has been paid for new work and Rs 9 crore for maintenance.

Triveni company officials claim that they are not responsible for the delay of the project as they have not been given front for the work.

Triveni company DGM VB Shivangi said a meeting was held recently in which their company CEO, Sewerage Board and MCB officials were present. — TNS
