Girl commits suicide by jumping in lake

BATHINDA: A girl allegedly committed suicide by jumping in lake number of 2 of the Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Plant on the Goniana road in the city.

A girl allegedly committed suicide by jumping in lake number of 2 of the Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Plant on the Goniana road in the city.

She left behind a suicide note in which she held her boyfriend and his mother responsible for the extreme step. The deceased has been identified as Tanya, a resident of Partap Nagar.

In the note, she alleged that her boyfriend Jass broke relationship with her. Heartbroken, the girl ended her life.

After getting information, NGO Naujawan Welfare Society workers reached the spot and took out the body of the girl from the lake in the presence of the police.

The Thermal police, acting on the suicide note, have registered a case against the boyfriend of the deceased.

Thermal police station SHO Rachpal Singh said, “The police are probing the matter as so far they have not got much information about the boy.”

As per information, the deceased has been identified from the Aadhar card and the suicide note, which was found inside a bag recovered from the spot.
