Parents of students studying in Global Discovery School, Rampura Phul, met ADC Sakshi Sawhney and submitted a memorandum of their complaints against the school authorities and urged her to look into the matter. The ADC assured them that the issue would be looked into.

During a meeting with the ADC, the parents alleged that the management had not kept its promise and was putting pressure on the students to make the parents pay the increased fee. They had already made them buy books of private publishers, the parents added.

The parents brought to the ADC’s attention that the school was yet to offer basic facilities to the students and sporting and extra-curricular activities which were promised to the students at the time of admission.

They elaborated that at the time of admission, the school management had assured the parents that it would soon offer facilities such as swimming pool, skating rink, boxing, badminton and smart classes on the school premises but the school had not offer any of the facilities or sporting activities.

They added that due to the callous attitude of the school authorities, the school staff was also changed frequently, which has an adverse effect on the studies of the children as they took time to adjust and adapt to the ways of the changed teaching staff.

When contacted, Amit Saraf, vice-chairman of the school, said the fee hike was well within the parametres set by the Education Department. He added that the fee hike was justifiable as the school was offering all the basic facilities to the students. — TNS
