BATHINDA: Miscreants decamped with Rs 40,000 cash by making workers hostage in a room at a petrol pump in the Ballianwali area.

Miscreants decamped with Rs 40,000 cash by making workers hostage in a room at a petrol pump in the Ballianwali area.

As per information, unidentified persons came to the Hamara petrol pump last night and snatched Rs 40,000 from workers by threatening them and taking them hostage.

In a complaint lodged by Adesh Garg, owner of the petrol pump, it has been stated that workers employed at his petrol pump informed him that unidentified persons came to the petrol pump and took away Rs 40,000 from them by threatening them, breaking their mobile phone and locking them in a room at the pump.

Investigation officer SI Surjit Singh said a case under Sections 457, 380, 342, 427 and 34 of the IPC had been registered against unidentified persons at Balianwali police station. He said they have started a probe into the incident. — TNS
