Two more snatching cases registered

BATHINDA: Snatching and theft incidents are on the rise in the city with two snatching and three theft incidents being registered in the last 24 hours.

Snatching and theft incidents are on the rise in the city with two snatching and three theft incidents being registered in the last 24 hours.

The first incident was reported by Gurbhej Singh, a resident of Fatehebad. He stated that the accused ,Gurwinder Singh and Sandeep Singh, both residents of Singo village and Gagandeep Singh, a resident of Sardulgarh came on a motorcycle and snatched away Rs 4,800 from him.

A case under Section 379 B of the IPC and Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act has been registered against accused at Talwandi Sabo police station.

In another snatching incident, Balkaran Singh, a resident of Gehri Buttar village, was standing near slum areas around Shant Nagar when the accused Vicky, Chandu and Ravi, residents of Bathinda came near him and forcibly took away his purse and fled from the spot. His wallet had Rs 400 and his Aadhaar card.

A case under Sections 379 B, 506 and 34 of the IPC has been registered against the accused at Civil Lines police station. However, no arrests have been made in the case so far.

In another shocking incident, a Hyundai Verna car has been stolen from outside a house in Adarsh Nagar area. In a complaint lodged by Karnail Singh, a resident of Adarsh Nagar, he stated that on the night of February 9, some unidentified person stole away his Hyundai Verna car which was parked outside his house.

A case under Section 379 of the IPC has been registered against unidentified person at Thermal police station.

In another incident, the accused Deepu Singh, Lovepreet Singh and Honey Singh, residents of Sekhu village and Nandi Singh, a resident of Haryana, took away an Alto car from the Rama Mandi area. This has been stated in a complaint lodged by Gurmail Singh, a resident of Kalianwali village.

In yet another incident, some unidentified persons have stolen away 10 sewing machines and two gas cylinders from the sewing centre at Bhai Bhaktaur village. In a complaint lodged by Hardeep Kaur, a resident of Burj Rathi village, it was stated that somebody stole material worth Rs 23,500 from her sewing center. A case under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC has been registered against the unidentified persons at Maur police station.
