‘100’ out of range, police issue new numbers

CHANDIGARH: The emergency number ‘100’ has reportedly gone out of range for many mobile subscribers. The Chandigarh police have thus issued new numbers for the time being.

The emergency number ‘100’ has reportedly gone out of range for many mobile subscribers. The Chandigarh police have thus issued new numbers for the time being. According to an official press release by the police, “A technical problem in maturing calls to ‘100’ number at Police Control Room, Chandigarh, has arisen for some mobile subscribers.”

Nilambari Vijay Jagdale, SSP, said: “There is a glitch in the server of the BSNL in Jalandhar and the problem is all across Punjab. However, it is not a major one and may occur in a very few calls”. It was expected to be solved very soon, she added.

In case ‘100’ is not available, these numbers are available round the clock at Police Control Room, Chandigarh, for police assistance: 0172- 2744100, 0172- 2747100, 0172- 2749194, 0172-2760891, 0172- 2760892, 8283040100, 8283035100, 8283073100.
