Around 7,044 vendors were registered during camps organised by the Municipal Corporation in December.
Sources said the MC had received Rs 1.15 crore monthly fees from the vendors. While camps were over on December 29, the MC was planning to give a last chance to those vendors who failed to register themselves at the camps.
An officer said only those vendors who have got registered themselves with the MC would be allowed for vending. The civic body has divided the city into three vending zones. In Category A, street vendors, essential vendors and mobile vendors will have to pay Rs 2,000, Rs 1,500 and Rs 1,000, respectively, as monthly vending fee to the civic body. In Category B, street vendors, essential vendors and mobile vendors will pay Rs 1,000, Rs 500, and Rs 800 per month, respectively, and in Category C, Rs 800, Rs 300 and Rs 500, respectively, have to be paid. Earlier, the MC has earlier carried out the survey which found over 21,000 vendors in the city.
