Ashutosh Singla (18), a student of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 15, Panchkula, has topped both in Haryana and the tricity with 99.998 percentile in the JEE Main 2019, results of which were released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) today.

His father Ashok Singla, who is an engineer in the Chandigarh Housing Board, said, “I am extremely proud of my son.”

While sharing his strategy, Ashutosh said, “I have been preparing for the exam for the past two years. I used to study for six hours a day. Question papers of previous years are helpful in giving one an idea about the examination.”

He added, “I stopped watching TV and used to read a newspaper or go for a walk whenever in stress.”

Ashutosh feels that JEE preparation is possible along with regular studies as questions are based on the NCERT syllabus only. He said: “There is no need to drop a year after Class XII exclusively for preparations, as everything comes from the NCERT syllabus only.”

Ashutosh aspires to get admission in the IIT Bombay.

Meanwhile, Dishank Jindal (17) topped the city with 99.997 NTA score. Dishank studies at Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27.

Sharing his success mantra, Dishank, a resident of Sector 7, Panchkula, said, “Exploit your strengths and try to reduce your weaknesses. Don’t let your sights off your aim. Have faith in your teachers and their guidance. Ensure that your knowledge is conceptually sound.”

He too aims to get admission in the IIT Bombay.
