Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, has asked for an additional two days to submit a reply regarding entrance exam for admission to Class VI.
The school was asked to submit their comments on the issue by February 18 before 10 am in the wake of violation of the Right to Education (RTE) Act.
According to the Section 13(2)(b) of the RTE Act, “No school or person shall while admitting a child, subject the child or his/her parents or guardian to any screening procedure. Any school or person, if in contravention with the provision of subjecting a child to screening procedure, shall be punishable with a fine.”
The school had also put up a merit list of the selected candidates (2019-20). As many as 28 children were shortlisted by the school for admission, while three were put on the waiting list.
Director, School Education, Rubinderjit Singh Brar, said, “We have given the school an additional two days to submit its reply. Subsequent action will be taken after their reply.”
