He joined the party in the presence of Lok Sabha candidate from Chandigarh Pawan Kumar Bansal and city Congress president Pardeep Chhabra.

Bansal said with the joining of Kundra, the Congress would be strengthened further, while Chhabra said Kundra was returning to the party after spending more than two years in the BJP.

Among other prominent leaders present on the occasion included Pawan Sharma, Mukesh Bassi, Rajinder Bawa, Happy, Satish Kainth, Gurpreet Singh Gabi, Sardar Surinder and Benny Thomas. Modi never thought about poor: Bansal

Addressing a rally organised by the minorities cell of the Chandigarh Congress at Milk Colony at Dhanas, Bansal said the Modi government did not launch any scheme or programme for the poor, whereas Congress President Rahul Gandhi had recently announced that if his party came to power, it would implement a scheme granting Rs 72,000 per annum to each BPL family.

The former Union minister reminded the gathering that the BJP was famous for making false promises and misguiding the public. What happened to the two crore new jobs that it had promised to create annually, he asked.
