Football match on Dec 28 becomes bone of contention

Taking a serious note of a football match being hosted by Khalsa Football Club on December 28 at Mata Gujri College, Bir Devinder Singh, former Deputy Speaker, warned that he would not allow the match to take place. 

He said the organisers should know that on December 27 two youngest Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh were tortured before being bricked alive and were cremated on December 28. He said December 28 has been observed as a day of mourning by the entire Sikh community.

On Tuesday, Harjit Singh Grewal, president, Khalsa Football Club had issued a press release that the club would host a football match for Gur Sikh players on December 28 at Mata Gujri College.

SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal would inaugurate the match, whereas Giani Harpreet Singh, Jathedar, Akal Takhat Sahib, would give away prize. OC
