Foundation day celebrations at SGGS College

CHANDIGARH: The three-day celebrations of the 53rd College Founder’s Day dedicated to commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev and Guru Gobind Singh began at Sri Guru Gobind Singh (SGGS) College, Sector 26, on Wednesday.

The three-day celebrations of the 53rd College Founder’s Day dedicated to commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev and Guru Gobind Singh began at Sri Guru Gobind Singh (SGGS) College, Sector 26, on Wednesday. The event began with an ‘Akhand Path’ followed by release of college annual magazine “Agammi Jyot 2018-19”, a special edition dedicated to Guru Nanak Dev.

An eco-green initiative was taken up with the inauguration of ‘Saugaat’, gift a sapling scheme. The day concluded with the ‘gatka’ performance by college students, an initiative to promote and preserve the culture and heritage of Punjab. President, Sikh Educational Society (SES), Gurdev Singh Brar, secretary, SES, Col (retd) Jasmer Singh Bala, vice-president, SES, Kulbir Singh, along with Principal Rita Singh congratulated the staff and students for their resourceful initiatives.
