Gurukul boys clinch a thriller

PANCHKULA:The Gurukul School, Sector 29, entered the semifinals of the U-14 Satluj Premier Cricket League by registering a one-run win over Yadvindra Public School, Mohali.

The Gurukul School, Sector 29, entered the semifinals of the U-14 Satluj Premier Cricket League by registering a one-run win over Yadvindra Public School, Mohali. 

Batting first, the Gurukul boys posted 139/8 in their allotted 30 overs. Their innings was propelled by Arav (33), Anubhav (28) and Mridul (23). Sehaj claimed 3/28, while Aryan took 2/27. In reply, the Yadvindra Public School boys could score 138/8 in their allotted 30 overs. Vikram (41) and Mantaj (33) contributed with bat but their effort went in vain. Arav (2/24) was the most successful bowler.

Meanwhile, in another league match, Sarthak School, Sector 12, defeated Yadvindra Public School (B-team), Mohali, by nine runs. Saarthak School boys posted 120/8 in allotted 30 overs with the help of mahjor contributions by Shatrughan Kumar (49) and Dipender Kush (39). 

Aarav was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed 3/12. In reply, the Mohali outfit bundled out on 111 runs in 29.5 overs. Aarav (32) and Raunak (29) remained the main scorers. —TNS
