Harsh, Aarush sail into U-9 pre-quarters

CHANDIGARH:Harsh Sharma registered an 11-1 11-3 win over Agambir Saini to move into the pre-quarterfinals of the boys U-9 category on the second day of the National Badminton Championship at the Sector 38 Sports Complex.

Harsh Sharma registered an 11-1 11-3 win over Agambir Saini to move into the pre-quarterfinals of the boys U-9 category on the second day of the National Badminton Championship at the Sector 38 Sports Complex.

Aarush Sharma of Doon International School, Mohali, defeated Bhuvan Chaudhary 11-2 11-1, while Aditya Tushir blanked Aarav Handa 11-0 11-0. Manav Dobhal defeated Vedant Rahi 11-8 8-11 11-4 and Ans Kumar Khare maintained his winning streak by defeating Tevish Chopra 11-2 11-7. 

Aahaan Gulati was awarded a walkover Kavish Soni, while Yug Raj Mahi ousted Advit Gautam 11-5 11-6.

Zorawar Singh registered an 11-5 11-5 win over Sami Sarwar. Agamvir Singh of the Sector 38 Sports Complex marched into the next round after getting a walkover Arnav. Ayaan Sangwan of Kurukshetra ousted local contender Viraj Singh 11-5 11-10, while Virat Khanna defeated Armaan Singh 11-6 11-7. Shreyaansh Garg logged a comeback win over Arin Singla 9-11 11-4 11-10.  Khagesh Chadha defeated Ronak Deshwal 11-8 11-5, Shaurya Singh Rana posted an 11-1 11-0 win over Himmat Kumar and Sarthak Som defeated Viraj Singh Chandel 11-4 11-3.

Saanvi Ralhan beat Joel Rana 11-10 11-9 in the pre-quarterfinals of the girls U-9 category.

Jasraj in pre-quarters

Jasraj Singh of Manav Rachna International School, Mohlai, moved into the pre-quarters of the boys U-13 category by defeating Mukul Hooda of Delhi Public School, Sector 40, 11-7 11-5. Shashank Rana defeated Abhimukt Narayan Rishi 11-5 11-0, while Druv Dutta posted an 11-6 11-2 victory against Bhuvnesh Kumar. Dakshvir Singh of Mohali also recorded an easy 11-3 11-6 victory over Hardev Singh. Ishaan Sharma posted an 11-1 11-5 win over Rudra Roy Khattar, while Bhanu Pratap Singh logged a 2-11 11-5 11-4 victory over Suryansh Raghav. 

Surya Kant beat Jaivardhan Chopra 11-3 11-7, while Vaibhav Giri defeated Manik Joshi 11-8 8-11 11-10. Anirudh Kaushik of Karnal defeated Kanwar Aaditya Partap Singh Parmar 11-7 11-3 and Aryaman Dhull beat Ayaan Singla 11-7 11-5.

Armaanpreet Singh logged an 11-6 11-10 win over Ryan Kapoor and Nirmaan Jain beat Khushaan Sharma 11-4 7-11 11-4. Vedant Pahwa of Jalandhar registered a 10-11 11-3 11-8 win over Divyam Sachdeva. Mohali's Shaurya Singh Rana beat Vinayak Mehta 7-11 11-6 11-6. Uday Rana defeated Devansh Rana 11-6 11-9.
