Chandigarh: The water level of Sukhna Lake has increased following heavy rain  in  the last one  week. It was 1,155.62 ft on Sunday.

Those who maintain  the  lake  said they were happy that the level had gone up. On July 27, it was 1153.25 ft.

It has increased over 1 ft in the past one week.  The Punjab and Haryana High Court had taken cognisance of the drying Sukhna and constituted a high-powered committee to chalk out an alternative solution.
