Chandigarh: Government Model Senior Secondary School, Karsan, defeated Government Model High School, Dhanas, 14-12 to win the girls’ U-17 inter-school wrestling championship here on Friday. This is for the first time that U-17 age category was introduced in the championship. — TNS

Cricket meet from Oct 23

Panchkula: The second Bhartiya Rural Premier U-20 Cricket Championship for Deen Bandhu Sir Chhotu Ram Trophy will be played from October 23 to 27. The matches will held at Tau Devi Lal Cricket Stadium, Sector 3, and the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh, the organisers said here on Friday. Teams from Nepal, Afghanistan, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana will participate in the championship, the organisers added. — TNS
