Chandigarh, November 17

Students of the School of Communication Studies (SCS), Panjab University, flagged off their media fest ‘Soch’, here today.

The fest started with an ‘open-mic’ event, where people presented their views on the theme, ‘Gehri Soch, Baat Barabiri Ki Hai’. The event was simply a discussion with no winners and everyone was able to put their viewpoints across regarding gender equality and the issues faced by women.

‘Spin a story’ tested the creativity and storytelling skills of the participants who had to write a story based only on a few pictures. Arshdeep Kaur of GGDSD College won the first prize.

Graffiti-making was held outside the department. Walls were adorned with tastefully crafted graphics. They managed to capture the fancy of many passers-by as well. Ishita Sarkar of the PGGCG, Sector 11, was the winner.

‘Ad-mad’ was another popular activity where the best sales pitch won the prize. —TNS
