CHANDIGARH: A mime show presented by Udaipur-based Vilas Janve and Kiran Janve marked the conclusion of the five-day mime art workshop organised by the Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi at Tagore Theatre here on Sunday.

Chandigarh, January 13

A mime show presented by Udaipur-based Vilas Janve and Kiran Janve marked the conclusion of the five-day mime art workshop organised by the Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi at Tagore Theatre here on Sunday.

As many as 52 artistes of different age groups, including theatre practitioners, were given extensive training by the couple, disciples of Padma Shri awardee Niranjan Goswami. The duo presented ‘Swachacha Bharan Abhiman’ (Dust-free dustbin), ‘Nani Ki Kahani - Tab Aur Ab’ and ‘Road Heroes’, which received thunderous applause.

‘My child’ by Kiran Janve and ‘Kripan’ by Vilas Janve based on ‘Geetanjali’, a peom by Rabindranath Tagore, were a class apart. Chief guest Saubhagya Vardhan, Director, NZCC, and Kamal Arora, chairman, CSNA, awarded certificates to participants.
