CHANDIGARH: Monarch Goel and Treyaksh Bali hit half-centuries to help hosts Chandigarh pile 266 runs on the opening day of their Haryana U-23 Inter-District Cricket Championship match against Kurukshetra at the Mahajan Sports Ground in Mani Majra on Friday.

Monarch Goel and Treyaksh Bali hit half-centuries to help hosts Chandigarh pile 266 runs on the opening day of their Haryana U-23 Inter-District Cricket Championship match against Kurukshetra at the Mahajan Sports Ground in Mani Majra on Friday. At the draw of stumps, the visitors were in a spot of bother at 17/2.  

Earlier, Goel hit a patient 72, while Bali made 55 runs to help the hosts post a competitive total. For Kurukshetra, Anuj Thakral claimed 4/60.— TNS

Arshdeep Singh scored a quick-fire 61 before claiming 3/27 to help Vivek High School, Mohali, script a 15-run win over The Knowledge School, Kharar, in the Little Star Summer Cricket Tournament on Friday. Batting first, Vivek High scored 145/5 in 20 overs. Kharar boys could only make 130/8 in reply. — TNS
