NCERT clerk held for impersonation

CHANDIGARH: A clerk working at the NCERT office in New Delhi has been arrested by the UT police on a charge impersonation during an HSSC exam held here.

A clerk working at the NCERT office in New Delhi has been arrested by the UT police on a charge impersonation during an HSSC exam held here.

Complainant Vaishali Kamboj, a data-entry operator, working with the HSSC department, Panchkula, reported that one person, who was appearing for the exam, was checked on suspicion and it was found that the photograph on the examination card didn’t match with him. However, the biometric attendance of the suspect was found to be correct.

The person was apprehended at the spot and the police was informed about the incident. The police said earlier, the accused revealed his name as Param Moi of Sonipat, however, when they checked, it was found that the accused’s name is Paramjit, a resident of Hisar, who worked with the NCERT. During interrogation, the accused said that his friend Ashok, whom he had met in Delhi, had offered him Rs 1 lakh for impersonating him in the exam. — TNS
