Ambala division gets richer by Rs 3.25 crore

AMBALA: During August, Ambala division of the Northern Railway recovered Rs 3.25 crore through the ticket checking drive which is 29.6 per cent higher than the corresponding year. Last year, the penalty amount recovered stood at Rs 2.52 crore.

During August, Ambala division of the Northern Railway recovered Rs 3.25 crore through the ticket checking drive which is 29.6 per cent higher than the corresponding year. Last year, the penalty amount recovered stood at Rs 2.52 crore.

Cumulatively, the Ambala division recovered Rs 19.78 crore as penalty in comparison with the same period last year which was Rs 17.01 crore.

Hari Mohan, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Ambala, felicitated the ticket checking staff from three streams of ticket checking, including open, stationary and train manning staff. Five highest earners during June and July from each category were rewarded with cash award of Rs 1,000 alongwith the appreciation letters.

Mohan said, “It became possible under the guidance of the Principal Chief Commercial Manager, Northern Railway, Mani Anand, and Divisional Railway Manager Dinesh Chandra Sharma. The staff was advised to be disciplined as they are an inter face between masses and the Railway administration.” He said, “Keeping in view the accident involving one their counterparts, ticket checking staff was asked to be more careful while de-boarding and boarding trains.”
