NIPER Deputy Registrar suspended

Deputy Registrar (Finance) of the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Jitender Chandel, has been placed under suspension for alleged dereliction of duty.

NIPER Director Dr Raghuram Rao Akkinepally said the official had been suspended over some official issues. “Chandel was officiating as the institute’s registrar and an inquiry was ordered against him about a month ago,” he said.

A show-cause notice was also served on Chandel a few days ago. “He was not replying to the notice and other communiqués issued to him and instead, has been raising allegations against me and some other officials,” Dr Akkinepally said. — TNS
