Over 10,000 to appear in CDS exam today

CHANDIGARH: More than 10,000 candidates are expected to appear in the CDS-2018 examination, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, in Chandigarh on Sunday.

More than 10,000 candidates are expected to appear in the CDS-2018 examination, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, in Chandigarh on Sunday.

There are more than 20 centres for officer’s entry in BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP and SSB in Chandigarh. More than three lakh have registered throughout country for the 2018 exam with number of candidates increasing every year.

Kunal Singh, a city-based defence career analyst, said “CDS and NDA papers have gained popularity in the past three years in terms of analytical, logical and conceptual competence. It’s all about glory, chivalry and courage. Being part of the country’s defence and security forces is not really a job, but a way of life. This is why thousands of aspirants with an adventurous streak and reverence for their motherland aspire to join the forces.”

He said, “The candidates are advised not to bring any electronic device, mobile phone, calculator, pen drive, smart watch, camera or any other Bluetooth device. The entries in the OMR sheets will be filled by the black ballpoint pen.”
