Satyam steers Gurukul to victory

An all-round effort by Satyam helped The Gurukul School, Sector 29, register a seven-wicket win over Sarthak School, Sector 12, in a low-scoring U-14 Satluj Premier League Cricket Tournament match here on Tuesday.    

Batting first, Sarthak School were bowled out for 75 runs in 27 overs as Satyam and Tanish grabbed four wickets each for Gurukul School. Shatrughan (25) and Dipender (21) made noticeable contributions to Sarthak School total.  

In reply, Gurukul School reached home in 15.2 overs wickets in hand. Satyam scored an unbeaten 27, while Abhimanyu contributed 21 runs to the chase. 

Saksham powers Satluj 

Saksham Thakur hammered an unbeaten ton to guide hosts Satluj Public School, Sector 4, to a solid 158-run win over Eicher School, Parwanoo.

Batting first, the hosts rode on Thakur’s 140-run knock to score 227/8 in 30 overs. His 104-ball stay in the middle was studded with 21 boundaries and two sixes. Inder Sharma chipped in with 25 runs. 

For Eicher School, Ritish Thakur and Deepak took two wickets each.

Chasing a challenging total, Eicher School were all out for 69 runs in 20.2 overs. Garv Sharma was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts, claiming 4/11. Inder bagged 3/2.
