Three more fall prey to snatchers in city

CHANDIGARH: Three more snatching incidents have been reported from the city.

Chandigarh, February 22

Three more snatching incidents have been reported from the city. One of the incidents was reported this evening from Sector 34. Sources said the victim, Shalu, was standing near the Piccadilly theatre when a pedestrian came and snatched her mobile phone. The accused, who appeared to be in his early twenties, escaped from the spot. A case has been registered at the Sector 34 police station.

In another incident, two youths riding a motorcycle snatched a gold chain from a woman at Mani Majra last night. Sources said the victim, Sunita, a resident of Baltana in Zirakpur, was standing outside a wedding venue at the NAC, Mani Majra, when the miscreants snatched her gold chain. A case has been registered at the Mani Majra police station.

In yet another incident, unidentified car-borne miscreants snatched a bag containing clothes from a man on the road separating Sector 35 and 36 on February 20.

The victim, Dipankar, a resident of Sector 4, said two car-borne miscreants sped away after snatching his bag. The victim reported that the car bore a registration number of Punjab.
