Fake currency syndicate busted, three held

NEW DELHI:The Northern Range of the Crime Branch has busted a syndicate involved in supply of fake currency notes of denomination Rs 100 in various parts of Delhi and arrested three persons Hakikat Chauhan (33) Tahseen (34), both are from Bhalswa Dairy Delhi, and Fazar (35) of Faridabad and seized Rs one lakh forty thousand fake currency from them, said Police.

The Northern Range of the Crime Branch has busted a syndicate involved in supply of fake currency notes of denomination Rs 100 in various parts of Delhi and arrested three persons Hakikat Chauhan (33) Tahseen (34), both are from Bhalswa Dairy Delhi, and Fazar (35) of Faridabad and seized Rs one lakh forty thousand fake currency from them, said Police.

Recently, information were being received that fake currency in the denomination of Rs 100 is in circulation in Delhi.

Stepping in, the Crime Branch deployed teams to bust the syndicate.

Yesterday, information was received that Hakikat Chauhan, and his associate Tehseen would go to Meerut (UP) in Verna Car to circulate a huge consignment of fake currency notes.

The Crime Branch laid a trap near Wazirabad flyover, Ring Road. About 11 am, two persons were spotted in a Verna car whose registration number was with the police.

After a short chase, the car was successfully intercepted on the Wazirabad flyover.

On the search, fake currency of total face value Rs ninety thousand in the denomination of Rs. 100 was seized from their possession.

In pursuance of disclosures of the accused, one more accused, Fazar was also arrested in this case. The police seized fake currency of face value Rs fifty thousand in the denomination of Rs 100 with one high quality color printer and scanner, along with fine quality papers, recovered from his house, said Joint C P Parveen Ranjan (Crime Branch).
