Gang of 7 mobile thieves held

NEW DELHI:A gang of seven thieves, who stole mobiles from Delhi up-markets, has been apprehended with recovery of 151 mobiles from Bhajan Pura, DCP Vijay Kumar said.

A gang of seven thieves, who stole mobiles from Delhi up-markets, has been apprehended with recovery of 151 mobiles from Bhajan Pura, DCP Vijay Kumar said.

The seven accused are identified as Suno, Ramesh Kumar — both residents of Munger (Bihar), Vickey Kumar, Sunny Kumar, Bikram Mehto, Krishan Kumar Mehto — all residents of Sahagang district (Jharkhand) and Laxman Kumar — resident of Katiyar (Bihar). The gang used to steal the mobiles from victims' pockets at crowded places. After collecting the smartphones in large numbers, they used to leave for Jharkhand and sell them, he said.

As per the DCP, Hauz Khas Police Station (south) was investigating a mobile theft case. Technical surveillance reached to a flat: C-50 Bhajan Pura on January 4, from where, the seven accused were nabbed.
