With Indian Americans adding strength to the growth of bilateral relations, the US embassy today opened a photo exhibition displaying the religious diversity of the Diaspora and its effect of the community on American culture.

"Keeping Faith: Indian Religious Traditions in the United States" is on display at the American Center, exhibiting how some 3 million Indian-Americans practise their faith and traditions in the United States, as well as the ways Indian faith and traditions have been adopted by Americans.

“As you go through the exhibit, you will see beautiful photos of Jains in Northern California celebrating Paryushana, Hindus in New England celebrating the consecration of the area’s first Hindu temple, Sikhs in Los Angeles gathering to observe the Harvest Festival Vaisakhi, students at Harvard celebrating Holi, and Muslims preparing themselves for prayer at the Islamic Centre of Boston.

“For me, these images distil the essence of American pluralism and diversity,” the US embassy Charge d'affaires, MaryKay Carlson said during the inauguration.
