The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has supported the demand of state khaps to raise the amount of special grant given for inter-caste love marriage in Haryana.

AAP district president Rajesh Kumar Saini said the government should increase the grant to Rs 5 lakh from Rs 1 lakh. He said the system of inter-caste marriages helped eliminate the evil of casteism from the society; therefore, there was an urgent need to promote this system.

Saini said AAP workers from Yamunanagar would also go to Punjab for canvassing. He added that they would stay there from January 10 to February 2.
