All irregularities during Cong rule to be probed: FM

CHANDIGARH: Sticking to its policy of “zero tolerance” to corruption, the BJP government in Haryana today reiterated its commitment to investigate every scam of the previous Congress government and bring the guilty to book, while re-assuring the INLD that its “charge-sheet” against the Congress government would be looked into.

Sticking to its policy of “zero tolerance” to corruption, the BJP government in Haryana today reiterated its commitment to investigate every scam of the previous Congress government and bring the guilty to book, while re-assuring the INLD that its “charge-sheet” against the Congress government would be looked into.

Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu gave the assurance on behalf of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar after Leader of Opposition and INLD MLA Abhay Chautala sought to know the fate of the “charge-sheet” the party had submitted to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar after the BJP assumed power last year.

“All irregularities during the previous state government will be investigated one by one. The investigation into Raxil scam and alleged Rs1,500-crore scam of 400 acre land in Manesar has been handed over to the CBI,” he said.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ram Bilas Sharma informed the House 11 matters pertaining to irregularities during the regime of the previous dispensation were under trial in the Punjab and Haryana High Court and Supreme Court. “We will implement every order,” he said.

This discussion was the outcome of a question raised by BJP MLA Gian Chand Gupta on the steps taken by the government to ensure transparency in administration and cases registered by the State Vigilance Bureau.

Capt Abhimanyu, replying on behalf of the Chief Minister, said: “The Vigilance Bureau has registered 226 cases, including 173 cases under the Criminal Penal Code. In all, 119 cases are under trial, while 77 cases are being investigated.”

He apprised the House of government’s several initiatives to provide a transparent environment, including e-registration in tehsils and sub-tehsils, allotment of liquor vends through e-auctions and introduction of ‘C’ Form to registered dealers under the Value Added Tax (VAT) Act.
