The total tax revenue in 2012-13 was Rs 4,626 crore which rose to Rs 6,695 crore in 2015-16 and was expected to be around Rs 7,200 crore in 2016-17, said a government spokesperson.

Refuting claims of the former Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal, that the revenue generation was just Rs 30 crore, he said that there was no truth in the statement.

The spokesperson said the tax revenue in 2007-08 was Rs 1,958 crore which has increased to Rs 4,626 crore which is nearly Rs 2,600 crore and not Rs 4,000 crore as claimed by the former Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal.
