Banga youth attacked in hospital, dies

A 25-year-old youth was murdered by some miscreants after a brawl at Banga in Nawanshahr district today. The deceased has been identified as Kamaljit, a resident of SC colony, Banga.

Deceased’s father Sucha Ram, who runs a tea shop at bus stand, said four youths came to his shop last night and asked for a glass to drink liquor. When he refused, they attacked them.

“I and my son Kamaljit were admitted to the Civil Hospital. The accused were already there. They again attacked us with sharp weapons. My son was grievously injured and was referred to DMC, Ludhiana. He succumbed to his injuries today,” he said.

Sarabjit Singh, DSP, said a case under Section 302 of the IPC was registered against Charanjiv, Madan Lal, Sohan Lal and Rajinder.
